Problem Statement

The Thin Line between Self and Guise

The challenge was to create a fashion language that felt bold enough to be remembered, restrained enough to feel luxurious, and distinctive enough to belong only to Guise.

Solution

A New House Code

Instead of building Guise around a conventional luxury symbol, I built the identity around pattern as recognition.

The zebra stripe became the starting material, then was pushed, cropped, enlarged and interrupted until it stopped behaving like an animal print and started behaving like graphic architecture for the brand.

Black and white became the constant.
Typography became oversized and unapologetic.
Photography brought tension and attitude.
The stripe moved between them, sometimes dominant, sometimes almost disappearing.

The identity does not decorate the clothes. It gives them a world to belong to.

The Power of a Recognisable Mark

Insights

Fashion has always understood the power of repetition. A shape, a colour, a monogram, a pattern repeated often enough can become inseparable from the house behind it.

The insight was simple: recognition does not require uniformity. It requires a visual instinct that belongs to you.

The Idea - A Pattern Becomes a Name

The Idea - A Pattern Becomes a Name

Guise began with the zebra, not as an animal to imitate, but as a visual contradiction. The stripes were stretched, cropped, enlarged and interrupted across typography, imagery and layout, turning an instinctive pattern into something owned.
